I have a few friends that made the Sergeant First Class Selection list last year. Some of them have low sequence numbers and have yet to be slotted for Senior Leaders Course. Is there any particular reason why they shouldn't have a slot. I have seen some get SLC dates a year out. I know it's kind of messed up but should we say only those that are promotable should go and not allow non-promotable to go until all those on the list are done?

Part of it is timing. I got into SLC because there were open seats and I held a “waitlist” spot. I simply called and asked if I could get in.
If NCOs don’t show up with reserved slots, then there are priority groups with opportunity to get in a seat.
But like 1SG (Join to see) said, there will be kinks. My biggest lesson learned is a quick phone call did more work than 4187s and GEARS.

The 2017 list was a large list as well as the 2018 list. There are NCOs from the 2016 list who have yet to attend SLC. The issue is that more people were selected than can reasonably be trained at the individual school houses. Personally, I was selected on the 2017 list and did not attend SLC until OCT of 2018, so I understand their pain.

They're SLC dates by sequence number. I made the FY'17 list, and I'm finally at SLC right now.
