Has anybody made it through basic and AIT with a torn meniscus?

If your injury prevents you from running several miles the time, carrying heavy loads on uneven ground, or limits any type of physical activity in general, then you will not pass the physical entry exam at the MEPS. The duck walk knocks out most people with knee issues
Lots of people in the Army have a torn meniscus and do just fine, it's simply a matter of how functional you are with your injury

Ya I wear my knee brace to play basketball or football if not my knee will twist easily!

no you are not allowed to wear a knee brace during the APFT. You can wear it during regular pt if you are on profile but you would not clear medical or graduate from BCT being on a profile.

Along with this. Your profile needs to have a doctor recommending that you wear the knee brace with the PT uniform.

Entirely up to Medical it's really not your choice Basic is Physcialy demanding with Rucks And Marching along with PRT its not a walk in the park it will make injurys worth.
