Recruiter told me to wait for security clearance to join the 75th Rangers(misdemeanors) but a guy I used to work with that was a former Ranger told me that's BS into just asked for the option 40. Which is true

As far as I know, Option 40 requires a secret clearance. You need a secret clearance and 110 GT for Ranger Regiment.

You need a Secret clearance to serve in the 75th Ranger Regiment, but it is possible to go through RASP while the clearance is still processing. I graduated RASP with an IDF Veteran who got stuck in Post-RASP until he eventually got RFSed for his Secret clearance not going through.

I may be able to help you with this one, but not sure whatcha mean by misdemeanors? My son is at basic with a 68w option 40 contract. I helped him decide and talk with the recruiters on this one with him. I talked him into a different direction then to just going in as an Infantryman. Go in with the mindset of being more then just an elite janitor coming out. Combat medic in a Ranger Batt is what he is doing. Initially he doesn't have to have a security clearance but you could be denied clearance with a misdemeanor. Which you could always have expunged from your record.

Kevin Thomas - First and foremost, clear up the one left. You won't be able to do anything with an open case anyways. Whether your guilty or not it has to be cleared up. Just like having a ticket before basic, you won't ship until it's settled. Secondly, there is a good chance the misdemeanors could hold you up on your clearance, but be as truthful as you can be when filling out your PSIP or what ever program they use now. If denied clearance once you are in you will be bumped down to just a regular line unit.

They're already closed. They're from 2014. But one is a class a. The others are class b and c. Navy told me only the class a(was a naval recruit in high school but didn't go) so I'm assuming the same for army.
