Can anyone tell me the likelihood of being accepted for 153A ? Asking as a Non-Aviator?

I have submitted my packet for the September 24th-28th board. I find myself on edge because I am an AGR recruiter with no experience in aviation. I submitted the packet for Active duty. Can anyone tell me what might keep me from being selected? I have nine years in, 26 years of age, well written NCOERS, and amazing LOR's from aviators. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Honestly, the Army as a whole is hurting for qualified candidates for Aviation. So long as your packet was thoroughly filled out and a good SIFT score you shouldn’t have any issues. The only reason I could say that would get you a Qualified-Non Select maybe a OML based scenario (20 submissions, only 15 able to be selected). Again, that’s an assumption!

Thank you Chief. My SIFT score is truly the only thing I'm worried about. I passed with a 40 on the dot. I feel like that will hurt me big time.

Your acceptance is based on Army needs and the strength of your packet. If your packet is complete and strong, current Active Army needs would likely see you selected. Guard and Reserve needs may not be as critical.

Thank you Chief I really appreciate it. Now it’s just time to wait on the list to come out.
