Capitalism is an economic model; democracy is a governance model. Which of these does our Department of Defense Defend?

Neither. We should all know the answer. The Constitution. Neither democracy nor capitalism is mentioned in it

What the Sir said. Which is why our oath includes all enemies foreign and domestic. I'm not trying to go down the rabbit hole of if our military has been/is misused in the interest of private business, but more than a few times I've had to explain to people that deterring and protecting American business from foreign harassment is protecting America/Americans. A good example is the First Barbary War. We are also a Democratic Republic.

Democracy is mob rule, the United States was intended to be a Republic.
There's nothing wrong with capitalism, people who bad mouth the free market are mistaking it for cronyism.

By regulation it is the Constitution- not either models- If the Constitution was changes by vote to Socialism/Communism- then by law you would defend that.
