Other than APFT and marksmanship, how can I gain points for promotion?

Being new to the Reserves and AGR, I have never had to raise points (at least that I’m aware of) for promotion. I was told I have to check how many points I have, and then raise my points to be eligible for promotion in my MOS. Any suggestions?

Education, both military and civilian. Check with the education center.

Civilian and military education are the two easiest ways. I always taught my Soldiers to focus on maxing what they had control over (APFT, weapons, civilian and military education). The rest will come when they come. If you max those four it will make getting promoted much easier.
