Recruited for 13f airborne leave Monday, can I apply for 10th mountain division? If so how and when do I do apply? Would it restrict me in the future for 75th ranger or special forces? Or help me? Thank you

You will more than likely go directly to an airborne unit. 10th May come later. As initial entry, let it all take its course. Thank you for your service.

An Airborne Contract gets you Airborne School, it doesn't mean you will go to an Airborne Unit, of which there are only two, the 173rd and 82nd. You won't go to the 75th unless you Volunteer AND there is a slot for your MOS AND you pass Selection and RASP. You can put the 10th at the top of your wish list, but your assignment after you get done with BCT, AIT and Airborne will be where the Army Needs you. There are a lot of jump wings in Mechanized and other non Airborne units.

No, no one is more likely. Your entire perception of being a super soldier is skewed.
If you want to go to Ranger battalion, go there from the start. No idea why you're fixated on fort drum but it's just another army unit like a dozen other army divisions.

SFC (Join to see) I just want to well qualified and trained, have a better perception. Not trying to be a super soldier, like I said earlier I just want to know when and how to make the best out of my career.

When you are in Airborne school volunteer for RASP.
Statistically, you won't make it, but it's the very best thing you can do with your career, and it's best to do it at the beginning.

You're supposed to go to an Airborne assignment after airborne school. If you volunteered for Airborne while you were in, you would absolutely go to an Airborne assignment after the school.
But, sometimes it happens to the initial entry soldiers that their first unit is not an Airborne assignment. The next assignment absolutely will be an Airborne unit.

I got airborne in my contract, that's good info though thank you. Trying to get an image of what I'm going to be doing because there isn't a lot of info on this. I wanna be well informed so I don't miss any chances because I don't expect someone to ask or guide me.
