I am a reservist and am building my Warrant packet now (Aviation), I had a few basic questions. First, when I get picked up and PCS, am I allowed to bring my family as a reservist? I know most aviation warrants get to bring family due to the length of training. Next, I am located in the DFW area and there are a few aviation units in the area, would I be assigned to one of those units or a different duty station when I find out which air frame I will be flying? I am not too worried about deployment as I figure it comes with the territory. Any additional information would be appreciated!

I can only speak for active duty and national guard warrants. When I was there I don't think we had any reserve Warrants but yes, every married soldier brought their family with them to flight school if they wanted to. Obviously there were those who chose not to but those cases were few and far between. Your airframe will obviously determine what unit you are assigned to. Hope this helps a little.

It is all about your orders. Make sure the Family is included. Your unit may not be experienced in that regard. So ask. Thank you for your service.

We had reservists in my class. They had their families. It’s a PCS move that can take 1.5 to 2 years to complete from WOCS to graduation from your airframe.
