My orders say I can move my family to my AIT site but my drill servants want me to wait 2 months before I can start the paper work for them to move. Can i move them now to an off post housing and have the army reimburse me for it later? Has anyone done that? Care to share your experience?

It is never wise to get ahead of orders. Anything can happen to change your status. If you have orders and your status changes the military will honor those orders if activated. If you move ahead of orders and your military situation changes thay will not reimburse you for speculating. Go to the S1 and ask when you will receive orders. Thank you for your service.

I can say when I was in AIT one of my fellow soldiers has his wife there; but, he was required to stay on base during the week and could only go home on weekends if memory serves.
Don't quote me on the last part; but, I do know that his wife did come; but, like SPC Zina said below it wasn't immediately.
