I think this is only a start. We will see more and more units going. I don't think the number will be as high as they were in the past but we will go back to fighting there.

Airborne! I'm a proud alumnus of the 82d (1/504), which I guess would now be the 1st BCT?

Actually MAJ Ryan K., CW5 (Join to see) is too humble to state he was selected Paratrooper of the Month back in the late 70's for all of the 82nd! Quite an honor I'd say.

No, SGT Steven Montgomery, I'm not too humble. I'll tell anybody who will listen! :-) April 1977 ... 82nd Airborne Division Trooper of the Month

So much for no combat troops putting boots on ground engaging the enemy directly. I just hope that round three will play out cleaner than round two did, and at least we can rightly fight from the moral high ground this time.

SGT (Join to see), there is no moral high ground in Iraq -- just low places and less-low places.

1LT William Clardy I get what you're saying, but if fighting IS has any silver lining it's that they provide themselves as an enemy with no ethical or moral ambiguity. It's been a while since we've fought an undeniably evil enemy.
