Given all the pending cuts to money, training, equipment, RIF boards, past indiscretions from earlier in your career, how do you see yourself with the 1st round of everything coming into effect for this year?

Will you be looking to move forward or are you going to start planning and working for your next career venture after the military? And do you have any suggestions for the ones that this discussion does cover to help with the potential transitions that will be coming forth.

I see 2014 as a chance to really improve as an NCO. I began 2014 by beginning Advanced Leader Course. I was presently surprised by the changes made to NCOES since my completion of WLC. Closed book exams and great implementation of Army Learning Model 2015 led to a very student centric learning environment. From here I will return to my position as an Instructor, and finish working on my warrant Officer Packet. (I am undecided on whether or not to go Warrant I do however believe in having a plan.) as far as the draw down is concerned I am not worried. NCOs around the Army have done more with less and I feel that quality solders will press on and thrive in the coming years. All I can say is "Bring it on".

For those who are contemplating moving on to new career paths. Remember the great lessons you learned in the past. The skills a soldier gains during his/her tours allows them to gain skills that are unknown to the rest of the world.

it means that I  am still stuck at a Reserve status and it probably will not change . It also means that I have to maintain my civilian job status.
