Military service conflict with your past life?

Meaning, is it hard to coordinate with loved ones when on leave?

Are you always deployed?

Is your old crowd a bunch of hooligans?


It's no argument, that the military life is usually far better than what we came from, but do this 'conflict of interests' pop up when you go home for the holidays, vacations, anniversaries, etc.?

Or did you have to walk away from your former life, to join?
Did you find it hard to leave that life behind?
If you answer, please give examples. I think this is a huge problem in the lower ranks....any thoughts? It would be interesting to know if hot drug tests are most common in E1-E3 ranks...
