Am I allowed to wear the unit award ribbons if I’m new to the unit?

Yes, you wear them while you’re with that unit. You take them off after you leave-you only keep wearing the ones that the unit earned while you were with them.

Your NCOs will take care of you. Just ask them. They are your leaders so go to them. Why ask a random person?

Good advice, Sir, but I'd also like to point out that some soldiers like Hoyeck and myself might try to get the jump on things in order to appear squared away or ahead of the game to their NCOs. I'm not saying it's necessarily a correct way to think, but it's interesting to see two different sides, even on something so simple.

You can also loom up the records at the department of heraldry. Usually unit awards are listed there.
