Where are the best places for families to live off post near Fort Bliss? Anyone have any experience?

It has been a very long time ago. 1999 and 2000. Bueno Vista apartments was a nice place relatively inexpensive with one and two bedroom apartments. Try to find a place where your neighbors are mostly stay at home so they can watch your house and report break ins. El Paso has a huge crime problem with illegal Mexican's burglary of homes and cars. Franklin Mountain tourist drive through has several armed robberies every day. I had a drunk, unlicensed, uninsured Illegel smash into my wife's van. $1800.00 in damages while I was sitting at a gas station pumping gas. Cops handcuffed him and locked him in back of cop car. They breathalyzed him every hour and released him after two hours while I was still waiting for a tow truck. I filed a complaint against the officers for letting him go but no positive results. Desk SGT said they followed SOP releasing him as soon as he was legally sober. Walmart parking lot has 10 or more vehicle breakins every day. Even with security and cameras. Never leave anything in plain sight inside car or in home Windows worth stealing. They smash out your window, grab and run. Never get anything back so have good insurance. I recommend living on base if possible, crime is much less there because Illegels have tough time gaining access.

FBTX isn’t the same as it was in 2006. I personally live in the East Side and love it. Traffic isn’t terrible and it’s growing at a decent rate. As long as you’re out of the house by 0540, traffic isn’t much much of a factor at all.

We live on the West side near Franklin High School with easy access to Transmountain and WBAMC (where I work), schools, shopping, restaurants, east Bliss, etc. Generally considered to have good schools or daycare options.
