Check with your state FRG program. Ours frequently sends emails to the full-timers in the state about different events and programs concerning families and children. I just got one related to a "Month of the Military Child Partner Event" today.

I concur the FRG has an important role, especially during a deployment.

Support how? Family Support Groups (unit level) are there to provide what help they can- moral, some child care, information, togetherness. Some Posts will do the same- financial aid is almost always a NO-GO unless they go thru AER, Red Cross for emergencies. Broad question-with little detail for a good answer.

Not really sure SGM, first deployment with first kid. New territory for the whole family, just trying to gather as much information as possible.

MyCAA for education benefits for the spouse. Call the banks for reduced APR on some of your accounts (mortgage, credit cards, etc). Some YMC places will provide free membership for the duration of the Soldier’s deployment to the whole family.
