My dad was in the Navy in the 1970s aboard the USS Camden (AOE-2). Doing a google search for pictures of the ship I saw things like hats, patches, and coffee mugs related to the ship (which was decommissioned in 2005 and then scrapped in 2008). Where can I look to find things like that? His birthday is coming up and I'd like to try and get something related for him.

A quick Google search came up with this website: https://militarybest.com/index.html
and this one: https://www.priorservice.com/usscaaopr2.html
Between the two, you should be able to find hats, patches, and prints. Good luck.

In 10 minutes of browsing I found quite a bit between the two. Thanks!

Ebay is probably the best option. A second good choice would be here:
http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/

There is a posting requirement though before you can post in the sale/wanted area.

Great question.

The ship's decomm, so I'd start with E-bay, Etsy, places like that. That said, I've been looking for a replacement USS SHREVEPORT ballcap for some time without luck.

The mugs are more difficult, unless you have one "special made"...and these days, who knows what that entails? Ours (as I recall) were provided by an off-ship vendor working with the Fleet, kinda "Jostens" style (http://www.milart.com).
