What should I expect from my Reserve Unit when Reclassing in transition from Active Duty?

I transitioned from active duty to a reserve unit over a year ago and was supposed to reclass to a new MOS. The process required some online training which was completed. I have not heard anything about it since I notified my Unit of completing the online training. Is this normal for the reserves, or do I need to start talking to people about this?

Just as with Active duty, you may want to go through your first line supervisor. At the least, keep him/her in the loop if you were to say you want to contact your training NCO and CC them to see where you are in the training pipeline. If you're not yet scheduled for reclass training, then it could be a funding issue, or it could be the person who needs to schedule you may not have been aware. Your unit should have a unit administrator or AGR staff to help facilitate these kind of things. At the worst, bring it up at your next scheduled battle assembly / drill.

I would concur with what you said about funding as a potential issue. I went from Active Duty to the Reserves, and it took over a year for the unit to be able to send me to Reclass, and funding was the only hang-up.

If your unit has the slot and needs you I would guess that an on the ball training NCO would have you registered for the class. Now some of the MOS's are only taught a few times a year, I know the 92L that I reclassed into back in 2013 was only held 2 times per year since it was a low density MOS. I would just check with your chain of command or ask if it is okay to speak with the training NCO and see.
