Ok,

All great suggestions. But here is what I would suggest: show all options to your bride and her mother, ask for input, and have them decide. Remember that this is your brides day and everything revolves around her and of course the mother in law. Let me reemphasize this... IT'S HER DAY AND SHE AND HER MOM CALL THE SHOTS!

Medals and bow tie, for sure. It is a formal event, and you want to look your best for your bride. I have considered this myself, and in my case it was a dress mess with the mini medals. It is a considerable expense to put together when you get to my age and experience. I opted against it, mostly because I feel as though that chapter of my life is coming to a close.
New wife, new beginnings.

EZrackbuilder wanted to charge me $43.00 to put three mini medals together.... I can only imagine the cringe my chief feels when he has to replace his rack...

I would wear a bow tie and medals. Go big or go home I always say. Especially for a wedding. Try to look as royal as possible for your princess. A wedding SHOULD only be one time in your life. Unless, however, she chooses what you should wear. Even though a wedding is for both individuals, I see the venue and attire as way more important to the woman.
