The US Army is awarding military medals posthumously to the Jr ROTC cadets from the Parkland School District. Do you think this is right?

Ok. Let’s be clear. They were awarded the “Medal of Heroism.” This is an Award specifically for JROTC cadets. This is well within regulations. If your looking for a foul there is none.

Not looking for a foul, Col. The original information was they were looking to award them with Army Commendation medal. I was wondering what people thought about it.

Even if it’s just an ROTC medal, these individuals displayed the upmost courage and demonstrated the army values to the core. These kids are hero’s. It would be an honor to shake their parents hands and the cadets hands who survived.

As I understand it, it is the highest JROTC medal AUTHORTIZED. At lest one of them died while trying to get fellow students out. Your comment ( which has me Pissed off) makes it appear that - 1. There are regular Armed Service medals and 2. It is wrong to award posthumously to them. Please in he future research before posting particularly when its a different branch of service.
