So, my whole platoon, immediate leadership and myself, were all under the impression that I was to be promoted. I was even told that my selection paperwork was already on its way down. However, somehow it never made it to my unit, this was about 3 months ago. They are now promoting another soldier who's process seemed to happened overnight.

I would hate to think that I may have pissed off the wrong person at some point, but what would cause a selected case to be interrupted?

I am not flagged and am in good standing with my unit and have received constant praise from my leadership and peers, so I am at a loss.

Units have a certain number of slots for each rank. Have you been to the promotion board? How many promotion points do you have? Have you been the required NCOES? All of this has everything to do with who gets promoted next. If you didn't make the cutoff score, you won't get promoted. If you haven't been to the promotion board, you won't get promoted. If you haven't completed the NCOES within the required timeline, you will either not get promoted or, if you were promoted, will likely get demoted because you didn't complete the course on time.

I would get with your Readiness NCO ask for the promotion list to confirm your position on it, once confirmed make sure that where the other soldiers promotion is, is also within your radius of accepting a promotion. Also the promotion accepted by the other soldier is within the same MOS, its possible the promotion was accepted for a secondary MOS.
