I was told by my chain of command that there is a list of approved brands / gear (ie med bags, plate carriers, ruck sacks) that are accepted for use during a deployment. Multiple google searches later I have come up with nothing.

Ask your readiness NCO or training NCO they will provide you with the best information

There is AUTHORIZED gear that is not standard issue, if thats what youre trying to say

SSG (Join to see) - If it's not issued at the CIF, it would still have to meet 670-1 or other Army regs I would assume.

we always had to use what was issued with a few exceptions. I wore a butt back and had a drop down holster. above that we couldn't really stray from what is issued. Especially armor.
