Very sad day for all the marines and soldiers who fought tooth and nail for it. I myself am not an Iraq Veteran. (Two time Afghanistan Veteran though).
“At the moment, there is no presence of the Iraqi state in Fallujah,” a local journalist said.

Our biggest problem with Iraq, as with Vietnam, Korea, Afghanistan and so many others since WWII is that we refused to recognize the right of self-determination in the smaller nations of the world.
The current Iraqi government is a puppet government and will not stand until it stands for the Iraqi's and not US interests. The Fallujah insurgents will probably represent better security in the region until their political arm can become better established through leveraging the population.
We were wrong to be there in the first place, we will be even more wrong to go in and try to re-route the natural course of middle-east politics a 2nd time this century.

Just wait till the Taliban retake Kabul, and AQIZ takes Baghdad. Fallujah is just the start, they've realized they just have to wait till we leave to do what they want.
