Has anyone attended the Joint Firepower Course (JFC) and earned the ASI 5U?

The resident Course is put on at Nellis AFB. I'm interested in broadening my scope of knowledge into the realm of joint operations. I've not found much information online, and ATRRS is vague, so first hand knowledge of the course would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

This is your 1SG. I went to JFC at Two years ago. If you come see me at the company, I will give you everything I got from the school.

We had a MTT Course that came to Ft. Wainwright. If you have a JFO background, it will help out in regards to a lot of the information taught. The most challenging portion for most students is usually the fill in the blank TACS/AAGS portion. The test was challenging but definitely passable as long as you study.

Thanks for the response. I'm a 13B, so unfortunately no JFO background. I do well with memorization of acronyms and capabilities so I'm not terribly worried about testing. I acknowledge that comparing 13Bs to 13Fs is apples to oranges, but have you found the knowledge and insight provided during the class to be beneficial to you? If so, how?

In regards to practical applications during field time and deployments, it has been beneficial when I have conducted Joint and Combined Operations. How that relates to your job, depends on the role you are filling. I'd say if you are serving as an OPS NCO in the TOC during joint OPs, the understanding of joint terminology and what the mission would entail may be beneficial.

Any Joint course is more "salad" to add your qualifications...especially if you are looking at a future assignment to a CCMD or ASCC...I have completed the JOFEC at Ft. Sill, Soldiers that have taken JFC say it is can excellent course.
