I will be PCSing to korea in October. I am married and will have 2 children then. I only have 1 year and about 2 months left in by the time I arrive there. Because a sponsored tour has to be 2 years, will I not be able to bring my family with me unless I re-enlist or extend or is there another way I can bring them?

You have a choice hear. You could go in for the long game extend a few month or re-enlist and keep going or go by yourself.

You can bring them without sponsorship.

Will I have to pay to move them then?

You don’t want to bring your family if they are not command sponsored. All cost to include rent will be out of pocket, not to mention they will not be serviced at the clinic for medical needs. They will not have any military entitlements and you can get in a lot of trouble with your command for not taking care of your family properly.

If you don't have them with you in country then you will live in the barracks and you should get BAH at the location of your dependents.
