I changed career fields at the 11th hour in the Navy Reserve nearly five years ago. Once the training was complete, I knew that I needed to deploy shortly after to gain real world experience and establish my credibility. At 18 years time in service, would you consider doing the same move I did by changing careers?

The Signal branch is really the only home I have known in my 20 years, but, 25U is not the MOS I chose.

In fact, I could not have chosen it--I am colorblind. I chose what is today 42A, HR Specialist. Because of a change in MTOE while I was attending BCT and AIT, I was reclassed, involuntarily, immediately on returning to my unit.

It's the best job I never chose.
