Great post and offer ...well done.
My little part of central Texas only got the tails of Harvey,,,we have been and will be hit again but much worse storms the nation will never hear of .
Of course human suffering is paramount to avoid and assist with in recover..
BUT PLEASE do not forget about the animals, those family companions that were not allowed to be evacuated, those thousands of Huston residents that were told you can not take your animals with you.
It will be, my last day on earth when Im faced with that choice...as I would never leave.
Luckily, for me and my family, we will never face that choice, we would stay and survive, or evacuate WITH our pups and survive. But I know there are many thousands that did not have that choice

Same here sir. No man nor animal left behind in household. If they don't go we don't go. That's been the rule from day one since we moved done here and got our first dog as a family.
It pains me every time I had to leave for work and my dog Shadow would go to the living room window and watch me drive away. He would start hollowing and carrying on like someone was killing him. There were other people in the house but he wanted me. He's at the Rainbow bridge now along with a couple of our other pets. I am a stay at home mom now since all these health issues happened so he got to spend his remaining few years cuddling and sleeping in with me. Getting spoiled and loved on. I miss him more than anything.
If we had to leave, I would grab them first. Their food their first aid kit, and anything else for them we would need. They would be my first priority since I don't have small children any more.

Amen. My boy Mattis would be right there with me until the creek stopped rising.

Great post Sir! We are here in Houston as well. Unfortunately we are unable to get out right now to offer any help as we are surrounded by flooded main roads. Especially since the opened up the 2 reservoirs.
It's good to know that there a great people like yourself and others that are reaching out to help those that are in desperate need of help. Just use precautionary measures though sir. The Louisiana Navy Men have been shot at while trying to help evacuate people.
The rain has slowed down some but it hasn't let up and it's not clearing out completely until tomorrow from my understanding. Then Houston and the rest of Texas can start the massive clean up and rebuild.
Stay safe out there Sir. God bless and God speed.

We are sending trucks of supplies from Illinois for the relief effort. We are all sorry about this natural disaster that has been unfolding in front of our eyes on TV. Be careful and wishing you all well!

Chelle Arends - thank you so much for the supplies you all are sending. It sure shows how a community, city, counties, a state, and even this great nation can come together put differences aside to rebuild and thrive once again.
I love this we stand as one nation under one flag.
