Wait until after basic and you get to your first unit. For one, they might not let you go if you just got it. Two - then you don't have to pay for it or your parents.

(Join to see) I think the required delay time is about six months after PRK not sure for lasik, also it's free if you qualify for it once you are in. Don't worry you'll look so sexy with you government issued glasses that you'll never want to wear anything else.

MAJ (Join to see) - They're actually not that bad anymore. The BCGs do not look like they did even in 2004 when I came in. They actually look decent. Now you get a lot more options of frames as well. All my glasses are government issued. They look like ones you get at any civilian place.

To avoid paperwork complications, it'd be best to weight until after basic training.
