There are topics on here about stolen valor. Most of the time I could really care less and just face palm the stupidity of people. We all hear the hotshots in a bar shooting their mouths off about their glorious pursuits in the military. But when the impostor tries to gain something out of it than that's another story. I take issue with the fact that there are kind hearted people being duped by people claiming to be what they are not. There are a lot of legitimate veterans and service members that rely on outside help.

This guy that I will post not only duped people, but did it with no shame and even duped over an 11 year old boy who gave the guy a Service Dog that he had saved up for and bought from his parents business. The kid gives the guy a black German Shepard that is probably worth around a thousand dollars.

The gull of this "hero" decides to take it further to con a dog training company to train his new stolen dog. I say stolen because he used his fake status to acquire it,. I think guy needs to go straight to jail in a New York Minute. There is one thing about bullshitting the bar crowed but when someones goes to this level I would like to do something.

This is what I don't get. When I left the Army (retired) I took my uniform off never put it back on. I can wear it at military functions if I choose and if it still fit (wider around the waist now) Why do they all insist on uniforms. I see no need in wearing it. Don't get me wrong, Retirees, if that's your choice so be it. I prefer to just wear a suit or proper dress to veteran functions I attend. I haven't spoken of my military service in many years untill I joined Rally Point to give advice. A military man or woman with no badges regardless of branch or service that served honorable has the same respect to me as a SF tab, Ranger tab, Airborne, etc.... And what other other branches offer. I know the Trident, Dolphins and surface warfare for Navy since they hang aroung the VFW post and learning the Navy awards. Again SMH.

SFC (Join to see) ,

You are right. The Federal stolen valor act would apply. It specifically addresses use of fraudulent claims for gain especially if associated with any Special Operations unit.

It is just sad, that a Soldier, did this. He served, even if it was a short period, he served. Army values out the window. Honor, integrity, and the esprit de corps which made my service great forgotten? REALLY?

If your service is / was honorable, be proud of it. Don't disgrace it and us by adding to which takes away from the rest of us.

SFC James Sczymanski More than I have. I have lost mine since, in moves. I do have a shadow box tucked away for my children in the untimely event I pass if they want it.

And if anything it just alienates the civilian populace returning veterans and those truly in need of said help.

That's what ticks me off about this. There is one thing in playing pretend, because at some point you will embarrass your self then another thing to commit fraud.
