The fact that this article comes from a conspiracy made in Puerto Rico makes it more embarrassing, however, I can't imagine what was going through these people's mind. You have people coming to you for help to join the Armed Forces and what do you do? You take advantage of them? Is sad what money pushes people to do in order to get a little more of it.

I am only surprised that we do not see more of this. The military as a whole has been reduced to a lower standard because of the situations we have faced in the last 14 years. You cannot continue to lower the standards of enlistment and acceptance without expecting things like this to happen. I sadly believe, it was only a matter of time and it is likely not an isolated incident.

This is just the latest in a two year old story on the GRAP program, Google has many of the details. The level of fraud here (ID theft) is above the levels seen in other States, though.

Great idea for a program for the recruiting. Bad execution and bad oversight (until it was too late) on so many others part.

My question would be where was the leadership, and the oversight? Now I have never worked in recruiting, and I can see how for many it is kind of an island at least from looking from the out side in. But I have to believe that these are things that proper leadership, and oversight would have caught much earlier.

It is sad that these soldiers would take advantage of others. Goes against what we’re taught in the Military!
