Alright Ladies and Gents... my 19 y/o daughter came home with a gym membership tonight and it looks like Daddy/Daughter time is going to take place at the gym now...
PT has taken a backseat to adjusting from deployment life and getting back into the workforce since I came home from my last deployment in February so needless to say, I'm a bit out of shape.
I'm looking for something to work into that will build endurance as opposed to mass. I've never been too terribly strong with sit ups and not strong at all with running.
So does anyone have any endurance building suggestions?

As a runner, I incorporate a lot of different techniques into my workouts. It's best to not do the same thing every single day.
I reach for longer distances than required of the APFT. Four miles or more, every other day at least. I'll run a mile up and down a hill to increase strength and endurance in my legs and hips. Hip strength will help with sit ups and over time, you learn to switch between hips and abs.
I also do yoga to strengthen my core, open my hips, balance my mind and body, as well as ensure loose muscles. I hate feeling tight and sore! It's amazing what you can do with just your body weight. I have a 9 lbs bar that I use during rowers. I find rowers more challenging than sit ups.
If you have any questions, let me know! :)

Weight lifting and cardio of any kind. I hate doing cardio, but feel better about myself after doing it.
