I've spent the last few weeks watching "Six" on the History channel. Pretty good show but since I was never within the Special Operations, I'm curious about how good of a job they did telling the story. I figured with all the members on RallyPoint, someone will have good insight into it. I know that what often is shown on TV is far from the truth when it comes to the military.

I started to say something cute, like 50%. I will actually stick by it because they do wear uniforms and care weapons. Never in Special Operations but IF they were more than 50% accurate, our own White House would be shutting this team down.

MSG Brad Sand - That was one of my biggest red flags. Seeing them sent in to go after a former team member like that just doesn't make sense. While it feeds into the whole "no one left behind" thing, I think the emotional attachment involved in the overall mission of rescuing their buddy would make them the last team to go in.

Do not get me wrong, I am all for going in and getting our own...but even the details they add for the story to have any chance at reality muddy it so badly that badly that you have to suspend reality to stay in their game.

MSG Brad Sand - Fully agree with you. I think they had great intentions and the first two or three episodes showed that. But as they tried to develop the story, reality just became something else.

Well it's Hollywood :) I agree they would be the last people to go in to get their former team leader. Just too emotionally invested. But to me overall, it's better than most show's of it's type.
The cast did go thru "SEAL Lite" training at a facility in Encinitas CA, run by a former SEAL. The original main character "Rip Taggart" actor dropped out because it was too physically demanding.

It doesn't. I had several episodes recorded, but I couldn't get past the first twenty minutes of the first episode before I deleted the whole batch.
