I was Permanently Retired from the Air Force due to a MEB. Was I supposed to get a Retirement Certificate along with my DD214 and orders?

Recently I have been seeing on Social Media that other people that have been Medically Retired have been receiving Retirement Certificates upon being Medically Retired. The only thingsolution I got once my MEB came back were my DD214 and my walking orders. I was wondering if this was normal practice or if I should have received a Certificate also?

Your Information And Documentation Should Have Been Provided Prior to You Signing Out...

Was it something that I was supposed to request? Once my MEB paperwork came back I was signing out on PTDY/Final Out less than a month. I never really had time to ask a whole lot of questions.

POLICY. It is DoD policy that:
a. A DD Form 2542, “Certificate of Appreciation for Service in the Armed Forces of the
United States:”
(1) Shall be presented to each member retiring from the Military Services after serving
20 or more years and attaining eligibility to receive retired pay.
