Professional Soldiers.

Officers, Noncommissioned officers, and Soldiers all enlist or swear an oath once. If you re enlist your a professional Soldier in my book. Forget all the flag waiving, put a boot in your a** songs and political BS.

If you re up once your a professional and that means you are actively buying into the "military lifestyle". So go to all of your unit and post functions, wear your ASUs when told and don't bitch about it.

The reality is that we all enjoy the good and the bad, simply because we like the service.
Is the pay great? It's not bad. Could be better but am glad I get what I EARN.

Are Army functions boring? Sometimes ,but price has to be paid by all with enthusiasm and a vigorous can do attitude.

I see lots of "S house lawyers" out there and the only thing I can feel is that they are just plain missing the mark. You don't have to decorate your car with your ERB to like being in your chosen service. I see soldiers and more NCOs that I can only sadly think that they don't even realize that being a part of the military is a lifestyle. Sure the one tour soldiers figure out they don't like it and leave. They seem
To be the smartest ones of the bunch! If you have re upped once or more, or stayed in past your obligation (officers), they guess what? Drink the kool aid, you're now responsible to living and trying to like the lifestyle you have enjoined.

As a complaint, I would say that poor attitude is the biggest mistake made by a career Soldier.

I think we have both drank the koolaid a time or two haha! I definitely would not have stayed in the Army for over 24 years (so far) if there wasn't something I loved about it. There are moments when I question my sanity for sure. But all in all, it has been a great ride. And even as I wind down my last 2 years to retirement, I will not let up. I am having the best time of my life being a 1SG in an awesome unit. This is definitely the way to finish it out!!
