Why are you even worrying or talking about failing? Seriously, PT is too easy...and if it is not easy for you then work at it! PT is like currency in the Army...the higher your score the richer you are! If you are having issues then run, go to the gym, do push up and sit ups at night...whatever it takes.

My first thoughts exactly sir. If he is worried about failing already then he shouldn't even go.

SGT (Join to see) per TR 350-6 which every school has to abide by, this is the AIT portion, you will take a record APFT before graduation, if you fail a APFT before that, your day will be longer, you will do more pt and you will be flagged until you pass the APFT, that's all, so don't fail

Administer diagnostic APFT at least once a month through the 20th week of training.
Phase V+ Soldiers that have met the APFT standards for graduation will take the APFT in
accordance with
AR 350-1, paragraph 1-24.
(2) Administer the record APFT NLT the last two weeks of training, to determine if the
Soldier has achieved the APFT standard for graduation (60 points in each of the three events; 180
minimum total points). Soldiers who cannot complete the final APFT due to a temporary medical
profile and have successfully completed a diagnostic APFT during AIT (scored 60 points
minimum on each of the three events on the same test) may be given credit for having passed the
APFT requirement. Commanders have the authority to award credit to Soldiers passing the
diagnostic APFT based on the Soldiers performance and recommendation from the chain of
command.
(3) Phase IV, V, and V+ IET Soldiers with permanent profiles will take the APFT. A
Soldier whose profile precludes taking the push-up, sit-up, or both events will take the remaining
event(s) if approved by the commander and physician/physician assistant. The two mile run event
or an approved alternate test event as outlined in FM 7-22 is taken if the test is to count for record.
The alternate test is for Soldiers with permanent physical profiles that preclude them from taking
the two mile run. Soldiers are given three months to prepare for the alternate test from the date of
the permanent profile.
(4) For reclassified Soldiers, passing the APFT is a graduation requirement for AIT.

I might get jumped on for this but why 14E? What is your current MOS?

Sir, I am currently a 42a Human Resources Specialist. I chose 14e because I am tired of sitting behind a desk and am currently in an Artillery/ADA unit. After much research I chose 14e since the promotion points are way better than my current MOS, plus I get a decent bonus for it. There also seems to be a lot of opportunities for warrent as well as jobs after the Army.

SPC Foy, Glad you didn't say the bonus. I only asked because as a former enlisted guy and now an ADA who has transferred into Space Operations, I hate hearing a Soldier say that they are doing something for a bonus. I coach everyone to think about the future. Every decision you make has 3rd and 4th order effects but its easy to get lost in the right now and not take that into consideration. SO, it sounds like you have don't that to some extent. Good on ya! Did you consider the Cyber field?

CPT Butterfield, I have considered cyber. But I am kind of keeping it in my back pocket for now. I am currently working on finishing my Bachelors in Cyber security. Im about half way through and plan to revist the idea later on down the road.

SGT (Join to see) - Good for you. That is a great field with amazing opportunities, to include the warrent officer route. The cool cant be discussed openly due to classification reasons but as a Space guy I can assure you that it is awesome. I really hope that it all works out for you, Good luck!
