What can we do without Government Permission?

Yeah. It's the getting caught that sucks -- so I hear. Kind of like it isn't the 5,000 foot free fall with a faulty canopy that kills you -- it's the sudden stop at the end.

I don't know that we can do anything we want without permission. Isn't getting registrations, permits and licenses asking for permission? You need a license to fish, drive, marry, etc. Then the government tells you, you now need insurance to drive, no insurance, no driving. You need a permit for a gun, where in the Constitution does it state you must have a permit, register your weapon and be licensed to carry? I do understand that this countries demographics have drastically changed. People are allowed in without being vetted, criminal records checks or medical examinations. Those who have allowed this to happen do not live in the real world or among those they have allowed to invade. You need to licensed to do hair, own a bar or restaurant, be a physical therapist, a mental health therapist and so on. So just exactly how free are we? Let me just clarify I would want to know that the person cutting my hair or giving me therapy is qualified but doesn't years of schooling qualify a person?

Whatever you and I were before we met Uncle Same we were during and after our service to our Country! Sadly the other was and is so! One day I picked up a small paper back book at a Car Wash the title was "Core Values" by a Marine! It just sounded like what my mother and older brother taught me while we were growing up!!! Now I try and teach those same values to All THE CHILDREN THAT PASS THROUGH BROADWAY GYMNASTIC SCHOOL in Los Angeles, Ca.

I agree but living in Southern California, which is in a very liberal California, I disagree with the states having the power no CCW's (Carry Concealed Weapons Permits) no AR's and no high cap magazines. Too Many state laws. If you are a business in California the owners/ managers are guilty until proven innocent and they will fine you for everything.

I disagree. There are too many STATE and FEDERAL laws. While the Constitution was designed to give certain powers to the states there does need to be some way to balance it all out. The logic behind Big Gulps was stupid/non-existent. Too much sugar makes you fat so you can't buy a 40 oz cup of soda at 7/11 BUT you can walk to the refrigerator section and buy a 64oz bottle? The assumption is that you would share the bottle...who says you aren't sharing the cup? People have been arrested for obscure rarely enforced laws simply because they could. I think that for every law enacted they should search their records and delete 2 inane ones.

Sadly, what Bush II's first "czar" for faith-based initiatives, John DiIulio (he resigned after about 8 mos.), a political scientist by profession, wrote years back remains gospel: whatever was not under the purview of government & comes under the purview of government remains under the purview of government; or words to that effect.

There are laws on the books throughout all states that are outdated. Like it is illegal to walk your duck without a leash and when coming to a 4 way intersection you are to get out of your car and fire your shotgun in the air to notify other drivers of your location (at an intersection).
