Have you contacted the branch to talk to their managers? Usually the Army will bend over backwards to assist when they are short in an MOS. Know that your retention NCO has a mission to re-enlist you and usually that is inline with your current unit demands and that of the Army. Career Counselors are usually the people to talk to and consult with, but it does not hurt to contact HRC with a query.

can either of you tell me how difficult it is to get a class slot for 68C as a reclass?

The biggest requirement is you must have a GT score of at least 110. Outside of that I know every spring and fall we fall understrength from the AECP program
