Another hockey season is around the corner. Who will be the suprise team? Who is going to win the Stanley Cup? My picks are LA Kings, Detroit Red Wings or Chicago Blackhawks.

Hockey has the most teams making it to the post season. Those teams have to be peaking at the right time to make a deep playoff run. It is way too early to even say who is going to make the playoffs, nevermind making a run at the cup. If I had my way I would like to see a Wild Versus Penguins series that goes seven games with lots of overtime, lots of shots, lots of big time saves, and one goal per game. I love defensive games.

It is way too soon to make any educated preditions, but I'll still go with the 'Hawks because I'm totally biased, and I endured far too many terrible seasons in the late '90s early 00's not to enjoy the current success. If it's not the 'Hawks, I'd love to see an Eastern Conference team, I'll say the Habs, win it; but I think that would be pretty tough if the past couple of years are any indication. The Western Conference is too stacked.

Always believe in another title for my Detroit Red Wings. With a new coach and younger talent there is potential. Tampa Bay is looking good again so they will be in the run and living on the West Coast I get to see Los Angeles and Anaheim battle for a run at the title as well.

The Eastern Conference is going to get the Cup this year. Whether it is Washington, Montreal or New York (Rangers), it is going to be East this year.

This season has been FULL of surprises.

Everyone thought the CBJs were going to come out of the gate kickin' butts and takin' names, and lost their first eight or so. They have kind of turned the season around, but we will see.

The Ducks are in the bottom five of the Western conference, which I don't think anybody would have predicted.

It is a shame to see Conner McDavid be put out with an injury, considering he was an offensive dynamo.
