The battlefield was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1921 and is the last battle fought in the Province of Ontario against a foreign invasion. I seem to remember a Kidnapping that wasn't that long ago that was a real nightmare for both the US and Canadian Coast Guards to resolve (He was fishing in our territory).
