This is an unusual year for me. Having been separated from my wife for more than eight months, my daughter working, and the rest of the family busy with other plans I find myself celebrating alone. However, this is not a real bad thing.

The time to myself, especially today gives me time to reflect on our nation and all those who have served to protect it. As I walked outside this morning, I noticed the sky was especially blue, and the weather absolutely perfect. For some reason it reminded me of that horrible day when our great nation was attacked. Once again, our great nation and our way of life was threatened, but our brave men and women answered the call and freedom still rings in America.

As for celebrating, I have my playlist of patriotic music loaded and the stereo cranking. Since I have nothing else to do, I can't think of a better way to spend this day celebrating our nations independence, then with my brothers and sisters here on RallyPoint.

Hey Steve

Happy 4th of July & Semper Fi! I was in a similar situation about 14 years ago just after my seperation and impending divorce. The only way I got over it was to keep my head up and treat others with respect and kindness. Extending a helping hand to others and stay true to my children.

Have a great 4th if July!
