How do we keep our military strong while a generation of youth joins our ranks that are used to being told "Great Job" when they merely participate? When a ribbon rack becomes a contest rather than about accomplishments and individual pride. When a "Combat Patch" or SSI-FWTS cannot be worn around others because they did not have the chance to earn one.

People love to attack millennials any way they can, but it ain't the millennials that will weaken our military, it will be Congress who constantly cut budgets so they don't have to raise taxes. Having a strong military costs money, and to spend money you have to have revenue.

It is not about "attacking" Millennials. It is about having a strong force. We can spend all the money in the world to have the best equipment and the best training, but if the force is not willing to aggressively approach an objective then how effective is the force?

Personally I have served, supervised, and deployed with millennials and my experience has been absolutely no different than any other young troops. I think they are bullied a lot for what is really just a reflection of society as a whole. Every generation thinks the ones downstream are somehow less capable then theirs. I can remember people saying that about Gen X --used to call us lazy, unmotivated, and goalless.

They waste money like the millions that they are spending to rename bases instead of fixing the barracks.

The current social engineering by the left will destroy our military effectiveness if not reversed.

It really is like a broken record with the Right. Since the Right cannot just deal with the cultural shift occurring in the country, you all have to rationalize it --cause what could possibly explain a more tolerant, environmentally conscious society??? So you, along with Michael Savage and half-a-dozen other talk radio losers, continually rant on and on about how there is some sort of vast social conspiracy to brainwash America's youth! Seriously, do you know what you sound like? --a bunch of paranoid zealots! It isn't socially engineering, its cultural evolution. And you are the ones resisting it, and getting left behind in the wake.

Honestly, only time will tell. But I'll give you a hint in where it's going - Just look at the direction our leadership is going.

The current senior leadership needs to persevere through the political nightmare where Congress cries for equality by lowering standards, let NCOs be the bulldogs they were in teaching the juniors courtesy and respect, and teach them that in order to be awarded and achievement, you have to earn it.
