There are some great responses on here as well and good guidance. HRC will have some answers as well but your servicing Career Counselor will most likely have the best and most up to date information for you. They have the more tools available to assist you as far as strengths/weakness of PMOS at location if you are desiring to stay or go. As a former Career Counselor I have been involved in both the activation and deactivation of a unit. Have plenty of patience with your leaders/command/unit/ and Career Counselor as you can imagine the difficulty of the big picture. Good luck and always seek out the local subject matter expert.
