Say what you will about President Obama, but he can deliver when it comes to catching terrorists. Ahmed Abu Khatallah is the terrorist suspect responsible for the Benghazi attack and we brought him in with no casualties.

OK, I'll agree that our SF personnel did an outstanding job getting in there and taking this guy down, but I wouldn't personally give the President too much credit. Why is that several news outlets were able to have sit downs with this guy for interviews but it took us almost 2 years to take him down? The guy has been running around doing his thing all this time without any restriction. But hey, great job on finally getting him so you could change the daily narrative away from the VA, IRS, and Bergdahl!

Not sure I agree that our Commander in Chief's intent was to change the daily narrative.

Impossible to really know intent of someone, but what perception does it send? We are all about perception in the Army and how others may perceive our actions. When it takes almost 2 years to take this guy down after we've watched multiple news agencies have nice sit dows interviews with him, it leaves the perception that the timing was such to have a story to tell. I'm not too big into conspiracy theories and think most of them are just that, theories. But Hillary Clinton just had a personal meeting alone with him in the last couple weeks and was scheduled for a Fox News interview the very evening of the announcement. It's a bit convenient for her that she got to talk about it at the interview rather than just be grilled about our failure to get anyone after the attack. Hmmmm...

Tell me about it. I have no problem with VA doctors but the Administration of the VA STILL! leaves much to be desired.

1LT Barden, CW2 Walker, I see RP as a group of my peers, and as such UNOFFICIAL. Everything that I post here is my personal opinion and as such does not claim to speak for, or represent the Army, DoD, etc. as a whole in any way, shape or form. Nor do I feel that my posts exhert undue influence upon those SM who I happen to outrank at work.

Sir,
Great point plus a lot of the personnel on here are veterans and retirees and not just active SM.

My take on the whole "disparaging the POTUS" has always been more about actions than thoughts. I can think and feel and bitch about my feelings regarding the POTUS, but at the end of the day, will I still do my duty? If you cannot honestly say yes, then you need to hang it up. I don't have to like my boss, I just have to execute the orders and instructions he gives me to the best of my abilities (provided they are legal orders).
