Who gets DONSAs anymore? I was reminded that the Army's birthday/Flag Day is coming up and that is a four day weekend for higher headquarters. In our command we do not have any DONSAs. Who has any? Should we?

Day of Non-Scheduled Activity. They are always in conjunction with a federal holiday to make it a four day weekend. (well they were until the disappeared).

OH...well that explains why the Nav didn't have anything with those letters - the Nav doesn't allow such drivel! Bah! Sounds way too much like garrison poo.....

We don't get DONSAs for anything over here! So I'm working on a Friday and someone drops an action to process, but everyone stateside I need to talk to is off. Same person comes back on Monday and asks for a status...uh hello?! It's a 4 day in the states! Those people are STILL off! Of course now it looks like I've been sitting on their action "since last week". Why can't I get a freaking DONSA! (No, I'm not a bit frustrated right now ~dripping with sarcasm~)

I used to piss off my boss by saying "You know we would be off right now?" He would ask why and I would say DONSA then he would reply with a....well less than pleasant response. I enjoyed DONSAs (the few we had) when I got back from deployment. I ensured though that if I had anything happen that needed immediately support I would go into work or do it via my BB. That I found out was very rare for anyone to do and probably surprised a lot of people.

If only the Army would hurry up and get me a CAC-enabled iPhone...then I would truly be the world's greatest AG NCO! Able to process any action from anywhere! BWAHAHA!! (that's my drunk with power cackle!)
