Amino Acids or Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAAs) are a supplement utilized during/after a workout to assist lean muscle recovery and growth and increase stamina. BCAAs alone will not make you lean.

I utilize Cellucor BCAAs. I like it, I feel a difference during the workout, less muscle fatigue.

CSM (Join to see) - "CrossFit Kool-Aid" LOL. I am an advocate for a total concept program that works; it is a lifestyle, not just a method of fitness. Competitive people like yourself, and myself need to eat a slice of humble pie and realize that "going balls to the wall" with a weight or a movement that you're not prepared for is a stupid, rookie mistake...it is exactly what causes injuries and gives CrossFit a bad name. NOT CrossFit in itself.

1LT (Join to see) - Lol! I completely agree with you. I am not against crossfit and am a firm believer in cross-functional fitness. Here is my issue with crossfit and I think we have talked about this before. I am stationed at Ft Stewart and when General Abrams was the CG here about three years ago he made crossfit the PT for the division. That's great but I have never seen so many low APFT scores in my entire career. Now I know that the APFT isn't the greatest measure of fitness, not even close however, it's what the Army uses. We have level 1 certified NCOs and Officers and the division spent millions on equipment for every company. The problem is they don't do true crossfit, they pick WODs or just make something up, usually whatever the leader is good at...I know let's do Fran three days a week.

Fitness is a lifestyle and until you treat it like that you will never see the gains you want. I still crossfit/crossfunction to get something different in my routine. I am not bashing on you, I know you're a studette. You go on with your bad self :)

CSM (Join to see) - Now that you mention it, I think I remember talking about this with you on another thread! But I completely understand where you're coming from. I am fortunate that the incorporation of functional fitness within my unit has been very successful (in my opinion), but I can definitely see how very large units might not understand it, abuse it, mis-instruct it, etc. Have a great day!
