I understand your viewpoint, however it simply does not correlate with one's rank. Granted an individual may be in a promotable status, but they are not a promotable rank. No matter how one may try to slice it. They are in the midst of transitioning to a promotion, but their rank is what lies on their chest. Besides, there is no left parenthesis P right parenthesis on the individual's chest, just rank only.

The word "promotable" should never be used when referring to someone's rank. I don't care if someone is promotable, either they get promoted or they don't.
