"Are you a Military Veteran attempting to transition to a civilian career? You need to get one thing straight in your mind – For civilian employers, the hiring decision is all about profit. That’s the harsh reality, and the quicker you grasp that, the quicker you will find employment."

That article seems like it is stressing the obvious. Is there anyone that did not know this?

Walk in and tell them the moment they hire you they make 4500 in tax credits for hiring vets.

Profit is not a harsh reality SSG Ricardo Marcial
If the for profit business does not bring in enough revenue they would not be able to afford to hire more people. The hiring process is a chance for potential employees to show how well they are focused on helping the company to move forward.
I worked for a not-for-profit company for 20 years. They had similar issue except that the bulk of the revenue came from federal contracts as an FFRDC initially.
Prospective employees would do well to know as much as they can about the company they are interviewing with and what is important to it.
