Downs Designs Dreams using both it’s Downs Designs and NBZ lines, continues to strive towards accomplishing its mission of advocating disability awareness, promoting independence and instilling confidence by designing, developing and marketing a special clothing line that meets the needs of individuals with disabilities and their families. We aim to provide extended dressing solutions, advocate their dressing difficulties, while eliminating unfair and negative outside perceptions based on their restricted wardrobe choices

Our jeans offer a stylish pair of jeans with soft stretchy spandex denim material, an elastic waist band, without the hassles of tags, zippers or buttons. This creates a comfortable, easy and stylish solution for many who struggle to wear jeans due to their maintenance involved, and or poor fit. They also function as a very sensory friendly dressing option for those with sensitivities. They do allow for belt use, and are created with a mock fly making these beneficial characteristics unnoticeable. Using the same features we have designed our black dress and khaki additions for both lines. With additional funding we hope to make a difference within the work place for our disabled population by assisting them with any dress code stipulation, professional wear, and during formal settings.

The biggest breakthrough in our mission, has come in response to our Adopt-a-Jean Friday program. We have been overwhelmed with the amount of submissions and families that request our services. Unfortunately due to hard times many are having troubling obtaining our dressing solutions. As the number of those in need increases so must our responsibility in handling the matter. We truly wish we had the means to donate a pair of jeans to every emotional submission that we receive. We are now elevating our programs to donate several pair a week. We will also strengthen our Support-a-Veteran Adopt-a-Jean Program that specifically aids our past service members.

While we have taken on the larger responsibility and strive to strengthen our programs, we need additional help! One company has recently created a great program that allows its employees to pay a small donation and “Dress Down to Dress Others”, In a collective effort the company will become a sponsor for our Adopt-a-Jean program. The workers can pay a small donation and wear casual clothing and or jerseys to support their favorite teams. Could your company and or office also be a life changing force, helping the lives of many? Although we are a pending nonprofit we have partnered with another non-profit fiscal sponsor that will ensure tax credits for all donations [login to see] ). Thank you!
