Are soldiers in "Same Sex Marriage" a distraction for you?

How serious is the distraction, if at all for you, by Soldiers interested in the same sex serving in the military?
I don't see it as a problem. I don't feel as though thier should be any difference in work ethic. I've met some male Soldiers that seemed to think that they should be treated softer, like a female. I've also met some females serving that want to be one of the guys, until it's an inconvenience to her. But I don't treat Soldiers any different. Male or female.
Here is the task... Get it done...
Males and females have different needs physically at times... But I foster a team of equality and we all meet the goals that are set.

I think the fact that we made a place for sexual orientation in our professional working environment is unprofessional in itself.
When I introduce myself, I don't say, "hello, I am am jack, I'm a heterosexual, how can I help today?" Or vice versa, whatever bill fits.
End state: I don't care what you are, I care what you can do to help accomplish our goals. Do that and your an asset. Do it not, regardless of "sexual orientation", or anything, and you should be cut from the team.
I think we should all feel insulted that it ever snuck it's way into our "business". Just another way to stereotype and categorize.

I just want to point out that it was rarely, if ever, that we lgbt people tried to draw attention to our sexual orientation, at work or anywhere else. It was people who saw that we were there and wanted to discriminate against us who did that.

Quite simply it's marriage. I think the problem comes in when Soldiers arrive at a new duty station or section. The subject of family could and most often comes up. For example, I might say my husband and I just moved here from x location. These conversations come up and a person gay or straight shouldn't feel as if they need to hide something or lie. Ilm but sure many would jump on a commander for saying he and his wife just arrived on station from South Korea for example.

To a certain extent a soldier is a soldier but when the problems start what do you do then? It's foul in my book but I'm old school I guess

Not sure what problems your referring to and "old school" has nothing to do with you believing this is foul.. A solider IS a solider and Not to a certain extent.
