Once you sign a contract and raise your hand you&#39;re considered in the military. Whereas, active components don&#39;t consider you &#39;in&#39; until you ship to basic. This doesn&#39;t prohibit a transfer to a different component, it just makes it a longer process.<br /><br />Your best course of action is most likely to contact an Air Guard officer recruiter AND your current Army Guard recruiter to discuss your options.
