After taking office in 2021, President Joe Biden realized that it was quite difficult to force Americans to trade in their gas-powered vehicles for electric ones in places where EV chargers didn’t exist — so he threw $7.5 billion at the issue as an “investment” in building out a network of EV chargers. That chunk of money paid by hardworking Americans was part of Biden’s pledge to ensure 500,000 EV charger stations were opened in the U.S. by 2030. Well, it’s now 2024, and Biden’s forced transition continues to fail spectacularly at taxpayer expense. That program has only delivered seven open charging stations with a total of 38 spots where drivers can charge their vehicles. The funding should be enough to build up to 20,000 charging spots or around 5,000 stations, according to analysis from the EV policy analyst group Atlas Public Policy. And as the Biden administration rolls out its new rules for emissions from cars and trucks — which will require a lot more electric cars and hybrids on the road — the sluggish build-out could slow the transition to electric cars

Major portions of the population still are not convinced that EVs are as safe or useful as touted. Battery fires and poor performance in very cold weather areas are a big problem.

"The funding should be enough to build up to 20,000 charging spots or around 5,000 stations, according to analysis from the EV policy analyst group Atlas Public Policy." Qualifications matter! Obviously the people in this organization don't know how to perform a proper evaluation for this infrastructure and their federal oversight doesn't have a clue either. Our tax dollars at work. We always get what we vote for.
